- EMME/2 is an interactive-graphic software package for urban and regional
- transportation planning. STAN is an interactive-graphic software package for
- the strategic planning of freight transportation at the national level. Since
- software products used by major cities around the world for purposes of
- planning urban transportation and national freight transportation networks.
- Developed initially at the University of Montreal's Transport Research Center,
- the software remains the object of continued research by INRO Consultants, who
- ensure its marketing and support through an international network of
- distributors and agents. EMME/2 is a comprehensive multi-modal urban and
- regional transportation planning system designed for interactive-graphic use.
- It is recognized now to be the most productive and user friendly code for this
- purpose. EMME/2 provides the transportation engineer or planner with a
- powerful state-of-the-art transportation planning program that contains about
- 50 modules which are subdivided into the following groups: Utilities, Network
- Editor, Matrix Editor, Function Editor, Assignment Procedures, and Results .Az
- Demand modeling, including trip production and attraction, trip distribution
- and mode choice are carried out within the Matrix Editor. EMME/2 provides a
- macro language which facilitates the set up of the desired demand modeling
- calculations. The assignment procedures include the following features;
- equilibrium road assignment with fixed or variable demand, multipath transit
- assignment, and multi-modal equilibrium assignment. The Network Editor
- contains a Network Calculator which provides a unique capability to carry out
- calculations with the network data and the results of assignments.
